The developers of the Commonwealth Landing bring a mix of talents to the fore. Anthony Cordeiro, Larry Couto, and Alan Macomber are creating a new era for Fall River with the construction of 103 waterfront apartments. With more than 90 years of business experience between the three of them, the three members of The Davol Group are primed to forward the progress of Fall River.
Anthony Cordeiro, Managing Partner
Anthony graduated from the University of Massachusetts – Amherst in 1984, opened his own insurance agency in 1987, and completed his MBA at Bryant College in 1992. Anthony F. Cordeiro Insurance Agency, LLC, continues to grow to this day. In addition to his first company, Anthony is a managing partner of 15 limited liability corporations that hold more than $70 million in real estate values.
Anthony has been a prominent figure of the Greater Fall River community, supporting numerous health, education, and civic projects throughout the area. He serves on the Thomas Chew Memorial Boys & Girls Club, and Child & Family Services, Inc. Prior to this, Anthony served as a member of the Board of Directors for St. Anne’s Hospital, Southcoast Health System, the Fall River Retirement Board, Bridgewater State College Business Advisory Council, and the University of Massachusetts – Dartmouth’s Advanced Technology Center Advisory Board.
Larry Couto, Partner
Despite a humble upbringing in Sao Paolo, Brazil, Larry has lived in Fall River for most of his life. He graduated from the Diman Regional Vocational Technical School 1982, beginning a successful construction career shortly afterward. He is the co-owner of Jerry Remy’s Sports Bar & Grill, as well as the president of Shaarco Construction, LC Mechanical Inc., and Shaarco Management.
Even with his busy schedule, Larry still finds time to give back to the community. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Fall River Office of Economic Development and is a member of the Atlantis Charter School Foundation Board. Prior to this, he served as the VP of the Board for Child & Family Services as well as a past Chairman of the Fall River Regional School Committee.
Alan Macomber, Partner
Alan began his career as an electrical engineer with Hamilton Sundstrand after graduating from the Worcester Polytechnic Institute and earning his BSEE in electrical engineering in 1985, before becoming one of their business executives in 1987. Afterwards, Alan attended the London Business School on an MBA exchange program, obtaining his MBA from The University of Connecticut School of Business in 1992.
He opened his first business, Corky & Company, LLC in 1994. Alan likes to say his only failed business was ten years too early; if it had been set up in the 90s, he may well have been a dot com millionaire.
Alan serves as the Vice Chairman for the Fall River Office of Economic Development, Chair of the Board for the Southcoast Hospital Group, Director of San Pedro de Macoris, and makes regular donations to the Immaculate Conception Homelesss Shelter.
